What is the Road Town Girls’ Brigade (1st Virgin Islands Company of the Girls’ Brigade)?

The Road Town Girls Brigade is a branch of one of many groups called companies that falls under the leadership of the Territory's National Council of Girls’ Brigade companies. There are other girl' brigade companies in the Territory of the Virgin Islands.

The Road Town Girls’ Brigade company was started in the Territory of the Virgin Islands in/or about 1965 by the late Enid Scatliffe after she returned home from the United Kingdom. Since 1965, the Road Town Girls’ Brigade church sponsor has been the Road Town Methodist Church. All Girls' Brigade companies must be attached to a Christian church.

Accordingly, the Road Town Girls' Brigade is recognised as an organisation affiliated with the Road Town Methodist Church and when the Company attends Church as a group, it usually takes part and serve in the Road Town Methodist Church. However, it often decides to visit the church of members or to serve there when invited.

We believe all women can embrace who they are,
